No, that’s not right. More like: Who I am:
So many companies-of-one use the term “we” all over their websites, and other marketing. I’m not sure why this is, other than attempting to satisfy the expectations of those who believe that bigger is better. And in some ways bigger can be. But no structure is the best for everyone, all the time. The client gets to choose the kind of outfit they feel most comfortable working with. It’s just me, and I don’t think I’d be fooling anyone if I tried to suggest otherwise. I’m the one answering the phone call or email. I’m the one who will be both visiting the job site to gather information for estimating, then writing the estimate, then responding back. If accepted, I’m the one showing up to make it happen. If I fail to meet expectations, I’m the one clients speak with about it, and I’m the one who will make it right. Clients are not fools–they catch on pretty fast.
Hi, my name is Wilson, and I am, and always will be, the sole employee of this little operation: Hoyer Home Solutions, LLC. Not that I have anything against larger outfits, or even franchises. But for me, the only stakeholder I’ll allow for any project is the client. No boss, no bank, and no employee. It’s the only way I can be sure to produce work that meets my standards. I need to be the one to decide what will be required to solve a problem, how much time I’ll need to invest, and the dollar value of the solution. I’m always open to suggestion—I have some very competent mentors. But I won’t be very flexible about cost or timeline unless I’m sure the quality will be there. I provide only one level of service, and that is my best.
